Mother Creature

Mother is a role I am a lot these days, and Creature I’ve always been but want to remember more. Creature reminds me I have a body, I am continuous with earth, and I get to be an animal, (what is the opposite of a trad wife? Creature might be it.) Becoming a mother foregrounded my perpetual experience of having one foot on earth, one foot in the cosmos. I’m writing from here.

Mother Creature is a place for me to record spiritual surprises, especially in my current season of the early years of parenting. By spiritual surprises I mean there is a way something looks on the surface and there’s a way it can look if I operate from the hypothesis that it’s FOR me. If I’m recording these spiritual surprises, that means I’m looking for them, which is how I want to spend my life.

I want to spend my life looking for and sharing spiritual surprises, and I want to do that together with you. Another way we can do that is in parenting circles I’m hosting. They are monthly on zoom and included in this paid subscription to Mother Creature. Each month, an hour and a half of guided meditation, asking questions, listening to each other, writing prompts, looking into the cosmic mystery that is parenting a child!
